Do you test children's eyes?
Yes- Opticians at Home has a FREE children's clinic every day
including Saturdays. If you suspect that something is wrong with
your child's eyesight, you should make an appointment with the
optician or you doctor as soon as possible.
All children should have their eyes tested every year.
What are common vision problems?
In children: Undiagnosed refractive error, Lazy eye and
Eye turns/Squint contact lenses north east

For Adults: Uncorrected refractive or binocular vision errors, eye disease-like Glaucoma, Hypertension or elevate Cholesterol.

Will I Have to Pay for a Home Visit?
If you are entitled to an NHS eye test and you are housebound,

Can I Wear Contact Lenses?
Yes- in most cases you will be able to use contact lenses.
Certain individuals with unusual prescriptions or poor eye
health may not be suitable. Ask your Optometrist to
advise on the options available. As independent Opticians,
we are able to choose a contact lens type and manufacturer
to suit our patients individual requirements.
Do you accept prescriptions from other opticians?
Yes- as long as your prescription is still in date.
Normally up to 2 years old. For Contact Lenses
1 year or less.
Can my old frames be repaired?
Bring them in and our experienced technician's will try
their best to repair the broken frames. In some cases
we may need to send them to an external lab.
We are also happy to reglaze your old frame with your new
prescription lenses, so you don't have to buy a new frame.
How many people are required for Corporate & Industrial Tests?
There is no minimum order or test.
We can carry out complete Eyecare Services on-Site or
Offer a Vouchers System where staff can benefit from great
group rates redeemable at our High Street Practice in Consett.
We can supply quality VDU & Safety Eyewear.
